Electric Motor Rewinding

Electric Motor Rewinding is an essential service for our customers, and we take great pride in our skilled tradesperson who handles this task with care and precision. Electric motors can become overworked and burn out, but with our rewinding service, we can get them back up and running in no time. When we receive a motor for repair, the first diagnostic test we perform is a “megger” test, which checks the windings for grounding issues, also known as “shorts.” If the windings fail the test, then it’s time for a rewind, and we begin the process promptly to ensure the motor is ready to be back in service before the vessel’s departure.

Procedure for Motor rewinding, repairing and overhauling.

– Overhauled motor/checked/inspected components.

– Rewound the stator as according to workshop’s procedure.

– Revarnished the electric coil. Heated up coils by adjusting temp.

– Recondition NDE bearing housing.

– Renewal the DE, NDE bearing 6308ZZ/ 6310ZZ

– Free load tested in the workshop. Mega ohm tested.

– Dynamic balancing the rotor if necessary.

– Delivered back the motor and documents to the vessel.
